Introduction to Cloud Computing

Trying not to clench your teeth after hearing another “I’ll send you an iCloud link” or “Just keep your photos in a Cloud!”? You’re at the right place. Here’s briefly and simply about the cloud computing.

Originally the full term was “Cloud computing” or “Cloud technologies”, it still is, but everyone just calls it a “Cloud”.

So cloud computing means using a powerful computer or storage space that isn’t actually in your home. Instead of keeping all your photos and documents at home where you might run out of space, you can store them in a big virtual space on the internet. That big space is called ‘the cloud.’

Cloud is like a self storage that you can use anytime, anywhere, as long as you’re connected to the internet

When you use cloud computing, you can access your “belongings” from anywhere. You can also use powerful programs and services that are running on computers in the cloud, which can store your photos, run apps, or even let you play games online.

Many apps and websites we use every day, like email, social media, and streaming services, are actually using cloud computing to work smoothly and securely.
